Who I Am: Hi, my name is Sydney! I am hoping to find a part-time (daytime or overnight) position caring for children and/or pets in the Westshore region of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Service Abilities: I am comfortable doing light housekeeping, meal preparation, and pet care. I have more recent experience caring for pets than for children and working with either group brings me much joy. Please note that I chiefly use public transit but am sometimes able to get a ride from family. Values: I am deeply fascinated by child development, especially the toddler years, and interested in gentle parenting and Montessori education principles. I understand the value of active play, nature as a learning tool, and the amazing abilities of even the smallest children. I believe every child has the potential to grow into a kind, confident, capable citizen and aim to walk alongside them down whatever path they feel called to. My own values and opinions aside, I will absolutely respect and follow whatever philosophy or style has been chosen by you so as not to disrupt your child's routine because the importance of consistency, routine, and stability cannot be understated – of course, as the saying goes, mother (or father, guardian, or primary caregiver) knows best!
