Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
My name is Laura A. Espinoza Jiménez. I’m mexican, from Puebla, Pue. but lived in Canada for about 10 years (some years in Toronto, others in Hamilton). Today I am 30 years old which I don’t, physically, apparent them. I came back to my home country almost 2 years ago since my grandparents passed away and I hadn’t seen my family for approximately 5 years in a row, even though my mom visited me a couple of times. I studied 3 years and a half of the Economics and Finances program at the Universidad Iberoamericana (campus Puebla) where I was granted a 90% scholarship. I also took a year in Financial Services at Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON., Canada. I used to have 3 cats and a bunny. I spent my first year in Mexico traveling around and getting in touch with my family and my friends. It was, honestly, a rough time since everything was “new” to me after being absent for so long, starting from the weather change (from -30°C to 30°C), food and people. Here in Mexico, I've been taking a course to certificate myself on teaching English anywhere in the world if I decided to. I'm attending class every Sunday since September. My course will be completed at the end of 2017. I've previously taught English and Spanish in Mexico and Canada on my free time (details in Resume and essay of reasons for teaching English-on request). My lessons were more based on student’s interests and what they were looking forward to learning or reinforcing specific abilities. I've been learning French on my own by reading books since last year. I have had experience with a 5 year old boy about 6 years ago, but lost contact with his mother since she moved from Ontario. Speaking English, or any other language, has not only the purpose of expressing ourselves. English, other than communicating us with the world, also provides the opportunity of finding a million open doors to different cultures, ways of thinking and exchanging non-similar points of view with people who experience life in a different way than oneself. More than considering the remuneration of this job, what motivates me the most is the satisfaction of being part of how kids/people develop themselves everyday; how they embrace their willing of learning to acquire knowledge, no mattering what in Spanish, English or any other language. Learning is never boring, specially when you teach with passion and having always in mind that a teacher is a role model. Teachers not only exist at school… Because when you teach, you are not only transmitting a science, but it also comes to sharing our human condition. Teachers are the sample of what students will become “tomorrow”, as important as our own family. My hobbies are reading, I don't usually watch TV (and if I do, I do it for about an hour a week or none - I know, not normal LOL), I read articles and news about technology and science mostly. I also enjoy outdoors activities such as walks, camping, cycling, swimming... I like drawing (as you could see on my Facebook) and playing the keyboard sometimes. I would like to go back to Canada as I was being very happy over there. I have all my documentation ready just in case, such as a USA visa and my all previous Canadian Visas when they were a requirement. Canada no longer requires visa for us since January of this year. I have had police check before and medical exam when I was a student. I don't mind renewing them and certifying myself on CPR. I don't have a driving licence. I intend to go back to Canada in at the end of February or beginning of March 2018. BUT WILLING TO TRAVEL BEFORE IF NECESSARY. As of my family, my mother works and my dad lives from his rents. My brother is studying at Berkeley California for the next couple years. Saying all the above, I would honestly be very glad to give you a hand on this job since I am also capable of being in charge of home duties. I have families in Mexico who have experienced my work when helping at home with cooking, cleaning, laundry and other chores. For now, I thank you for the time dedicated to my writing and self-presentation. Laura Espinoza
