Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

My name is Rachel and I am currently enrolled in the Teacher's Education program at the University of Ottawa. Through my experience working with children (ages 3-14), I have learned the patience and understanding that is required to care for children. I love to go for walks, cook, bake, and most of all, dance! I spent a summer working as a daycare employee who was hired as an assistant to a child with Autism. This experience taught me that all children learn and view the world in different ways, so it is important to assist them in ways that suit their specific needs. I also volunteered for 4 years at a high school in my hometown in the grade 9 and 10 dance programs. I was able to bring my passion for dance into the classroom to share with the students. In my school placement this past February - April, I was the student teacher in a grade 7 class at a school in Ottawa teaching English and Math. My extensive knowledge of these subjects, as well as others, allows me to help with homework and tutoring. I am more than happy to help out around the house with laundry (I actually love doing laundry!), cleaning, and making meals. I love pets (I have three cats and a dog), so looking after them is no issue as well. I am looking forward to meeting you!
