Individual
Hi there my name is Julie. I'm a child care provider living in Chemainus. I am looking to provide trustworthy, engaging and FUN childcare to a local family. I do not drive, or have a vehicle. I can provide childcare from Ladysmith to Duncan, provided you are located close to public transit, I can normally also count on a friend or my husband to drop me off or pick me up. I have raised four successful boys to be healthy and successful adults. I have always loved and cared for kids, and I am still doing it now because I love to. I can care for a little who is under the weather, and I can be completely trusted with a tiny infant. I have a lifetime of experience and unending patience. I love to read, and engage children in learning games, or games "just for fun"". Fun for me can be had doing just about anything, including making up games together. 20 years later, my boys still talk about the "Grandmaster Game" and have sworn they will teach it their own children one day. Let me tell you about it I believe that depending on age, children should be involved in helping their families going day after day and encourage helping with chores, especially cooking and baking, because, let's face it, those things are fun ad produce a tangible benefit and show that even at their age, they can help their family and enjoy the "fruits of their labours). And after raising children and being a working Mom myself, to me, there was nothing more disheartening or discouraging after working a long day than coming home tired to complete chaos and a total mess. It just sets the tone for the rest of the day, and frankly, that is a complete bummer. It affects the whole family and the rest of the day. It's nice when Mom or Dad get home and the house is tidy, laundry folded, you can smell dinner cooking and there's a plate of cookies the little ones made and MUST tell you all about how they made them. That's not a pipe-dream folks. It DOES happen, lol! One thing I should probably touch on is that I do not like the cold, rainy weather, or wind. At all. So if your munchkin loves singing in the rain for hours every day, I probably wouldn't be a good fit for your family. To me, rainy days are for baking cookies or banana bread to "surprise" Mom and/or Dad with, watching a good movie bundled up with a big blanket drinking hot (well, lukewarm at best, ha ha!) chocolate, or using our imagination(s) to create and have fun with different crafts (I have a big plastic tote I carry with me with lots of fun crafting supplies), and colouring. And of course, reading. Reading is probably one of my favourite things to do. I have read, "Oh, the Places You'll Go", by Dr. Suess approximately 789, 462... times, in a good week, lol. I can provide excellent care for your little one(s). As a mother myself, I know how difficult it can be to leave your most precious little one with a stranger. I'm very trustworthy, and I have excellent employment and personal references. My schedule is very flexible, and overnights and weekends are absolutely fine. I also do "babysitting" on a regular basis for a few families and am certainly available for "date night", etc. and things like that. Please call or ********** (250) 21... and I will respond within 24 hours.
