My name is Jay, I graduated from College of Philippines and am a certified HVAC Technician from the Philippines. In November 2022 I came to Canada to complete my studies as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). I decided to pursue a career as a personal support worker as I developed a passion to help families especially with elderly family members with disabilities. During my studies, I worked part time as a maintenance worker at Providence Healthcare. I am a hard working individual who brings passion and dedication to the workplace. I developed a number of skill sets which was recognized by by the management staff. Within the first two months at Providence Healthcare, I was awarded a special Recognition Award for my performance. This was an attestation to my positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve.After successfully completing nine months of in class PSW theoretical courses, I completed three months of clinical practice at Evergreen Home Care Facility. As I have successfully completed my PSW in class and practical components in elderly and disability care, I am now seeking employment opportunities where I can utilize my educational background to assist families in need of elderly or disability care in their family. As Caregiver, I assist patients with personal care, housekeeping, attending appointments, and most importantly, assist my patients to achieve personal independence. In addition, I document behavior, observe symptoms, and consult with families on patient progress or report on home environment issues.
