Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

Hello, my name is Layne and I’m currently 24 and new to living in Victoria. I come from a large family of 6 kids and 5 step-siblings. I love spending my time hiking and walking in nature, reading, watching films, skiing, and traveling. After graduating high school, I spent an amazing 3 months in Italy living with a family as their Au Pair, taking care of a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. I fostered a special relationship with the family and children, teaching them English and about my culture while learning about theirs. When I returned to Canada, I nannied for a family in Abbotsford looking after their two daughters and spending one-on-one time with their youngest while the older daughter went to school. I helped cook and clean the house while caring for and playing with the girls. As of more recently, I have graduated with my BA in English from UFV and moved from Abbotsford to Kelowna. Throughout my last year of university, I volunteered in grade 6 and grade 12 classrooms assisting the classroom teacher in supervising the students. I also worked with students one on one to support their individual needs. My experiences and schooling have taught me to be patient, adaptable, organized, and outgoing. I nannied for a family in Kelowna, primarily looking after their 20-month old son 3-5 days a week from 8am-2pm. On pro-d and sick days, I also looked after their 3 and 6 year old sons. The family and I created a strong bond based on trust and mutual values and I'd be more than happy to provide them as a reference! I'm looking to join a family as a nanny to their children and am here to offer an extra hand around the household. I have lots of experience living with animals and children and have always kept my own place tidy. I have a restaurant job and would prefer a position that allows me to keep my restauraunt during my evenings and weekends. I'm also flexible and interested in working part-time so I can also 1-2 weekday daytime shifts at my restaurant job -- being available for evening babysitting instead!
