Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
My name is Kay Simon, and I am a Black, individual with a deep-rooted passion for working with youth. Over the past decade, I have dedicated myself to supporting young people in various capacities, and I am excited about the opportunity to bring my skills and experiences to your family as a nanny. Camp and youth have always been central to my life journey. I began my journey in the camp setting at the age of 15, initially attending a Christian Camp that provided me solace during my time in foster care. Since then, I have immersed myself in diverse camp cultures, from kitchen support and maintenance care to roles as a camp counsellor, head counsellor, and assistant camp coordinator. Each position has offered me valuable insights into the importance of every individual's contribution and the power of collective belief in nurturing young minds. My recent role as Head Counsellor and Camper Support at Rainbow Camp, a 2SLGBTQ Overnight Camp, allowed me to foster a supportive environment where campers and staff could thrive. I dedicated myself to resolving staff and camper-related issues, providing mentorship, and prioritizing mental health and wellness initiatives. Similarly, as Assistant Camp Coordinator for TMU, I oversaw the successful operation of Toronto Met Day Camp, managing a large team of staff and ensuring the well-being of over 400 campers each year. In addition to my camp experience, I am committed to promoting youth mental health and well-being. I facilitate wellness workshops and offer one-on-one support services, recognizing the importance of understanding and accommodating diverse perspectives and experiences. Currently, I am pursuing studies to become an Early Childhood Educator, furthering my commitment to supporting the holistic development of children. My goal as a nanny is to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children can thrive emotionally, intellectually, and socially. I believe in promoting happiness and healthy practices in a judgment-free zone, while offering empathy and understanding to every individual I encounter. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to discuss how my background and values align with your family's needs further in an interview. Please feel free to contact send me a message.

Janet G

Kelifa is someone who always works the hardest. There are times I would come home after a long day, and just seeing the love and support that she offers my three kids honestly sends warmth through me. There wasn't a day that she was upset or mad or took her emotions out on my kids. She's someone who can separate her real life emotions from the job at hand. She always made an effort to laugh at every joke made, sing all their songs with them, play with them, and actually enjoy it. I'd recommend her.
