Hi lovely families, my name is Becca (they/them). I'm an ECE educated and experienced Childcare Provider that fundamentally uses the Reggio-Emilia values-based philosophical approach to childcare. If this is your first time hearing this term, what this means is that within my approach to childcare I will prioritize the early developmental stages of your child by encouraging their full bodily and creative autonomy. This will aid in their ability to explore and build an authentic relationship between the world and themselves. My approach is accomplished through providing the necessary access to environments and materials that foster expansive opportunities for your child to kinaesthetically learn, play, and grow in and alongside nature; a fundamental component of Reggio-Emilia values-based philosophy. In addition, I utilize my certification from The Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion to help your child engage and learn in healthy, emotional expressive ways from an early age. I live in the Fernwood neighbourhood in Victoria and have a Class 5 Drivers License. Ideally, your family lives in a neighbouring area to me or one that I can commute to and from via biking/transit as I do not own a car.
