Nanny in Almonte, Ontario

I am looking to provide care for babies on a casual as needed basis, in my home or yours. I live on Coleman Island in Almonte, very close to downtown. We have just moved from Winchester to lovely Almonte. My husband and I raised two boys, who are now grown up and delightful human beings. Alas, as yet there are no grandchildren. I really enjoyed raising our children and, even as teenagers, they were great kids. Life is quiet now and I would love the spark of little ones in my life again. I'm the lady in the mall who goes up to all the babies and gets them smiling, and chats to the toddlers. I'm semi-retired from a varied work life. I was a law clerk in Toronto, then balloon decorator for events in Ottawa for seven years. As well, I was a child care worker at Children's Aid, and worked at the Royal Ottawa Hospital for many years. Presently, I work from home in e-commerce, creating designs for four shops I have in Cafe Press, Zazzle, Red Bubble and Etsy. I would love a situation where I could look after a baby/babies, on an occasional basis and be the emergency "go to" person when you're in a jam. I'm not the person for full time child care, but I'm a phone call away if you're stuck or your regular caregiver is ill. I was the casual caregiver for the little ones in three families in Winchester for a number of years. During this time, two new babies were born into the families. Everyone was sad when my husband and I decided to move to Almonte, but we still stay in touch. One family involved paramedic parents whose schedules overlapped and I was there for them over the years. I'm very happy to provide references. Thank you for considering my application.
