I have enjoyed being around children all my life, even when I was one! I myself was in a preschool and as soon as I was old enough got my babysitters licence. I became a camp counselor in my teens and followed the path into ECE in college. I have always gotten along with children in part to my youthful spirit and energetic approach to life. I believe in treating children like people, not talking down to them, and respect their ideas and emotions as individuals. That being said, the role of caregiver is not to be taken lightly and I take the responsibility and honour very seriously. I would treat your children as if they were my own. I graduated from college with me ECE diploma and immediately entered into a preschool as an ECE. During the 3 years that I worked there I worked my way up from ECE to assistant supervisor to site supervisor. I worked with toddlers, preschool age and school age children fostering their development through interactive play, real life experiences and on hands learning.
