I am a fourth year art history student who has a passion for life and everything that it has to offer. I work hard to not simply achieve good marks, but to further my understanding and personal knowledge of the world around me. I wish to impart this keen sense of awareness and curiosity for life, both it\'s follies and it\'s fantasies, to the next generation. Taking the time to step away from the myriad technological devices we are oftentimes beholden to is exceptionally important; I believe that while they are certainly useful and arguably necessary, we need to strike a balance between computers (etc...) and other pursuits (such as outdoor activities, art, sciences, the list goes on). In sum, it is balance that provides the basis for all things in life, most notably perhaps, being happiness. I have worked in a summer day camp called Camp Cranberry in Collingwood in which I attended to kids age 3-5 in the mornings and in the afternoon, kids aged 6-13. I was responsible for engaging them in activities, getting them ready for a variety of outdoor games and programs, swimming, arts and crafts and their general well being and entertainment. During the long hot summer months when kids have a tendency to get restless, the summer camp becomes a beacon of light for which fun and excitement shines brightly, I like to think that I contributed in my own way to improving the summers of all those who came to Camp Cranberry whilst I was working there.
