Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

Hi there, my name is Victoria, I am a graduate of the University of Guelph where I studied Child, Youth and Family, with an emphasis on Infant and Child Development. I graduated with a BaSC and my ECE. I then went on to pursue a nursing degree, and have been a Registered Nurse at a children's hospital for the last 5 years. Between degrees, I worked for a year as a supervisor at an infant/toddler daycare centre. I taught in the classroom as the lead teacher, as well as oversaw the staff of the centre, and created the program planning for infants aged 6mths-24mths. I have worked as both a nanny and babysitter for numerous families over the years. Throughout nursing school I was a nanny for newborn twins, where I worked to promote proper sleep habits, coordinate to have both twins on similar schedules for consistency, and provided developmentally appropriate enrichment activities. I am a firm believer of outdoor play time and exploration, flexible schedules (when appropriate), sensory activities, and outings to local libraries, programs, etc as weather and time permits. I continue to work full time as a Registered Nurse and therefore am only looking for an occasional position. I prefer taking care of newborns and infants, but am open to other age groups. As a nurse, I have extensive experience with medically complex infants/children (i.e. feeding tubes, oxygen, etc) and would be open to providing this type of care.
