Hi there! My name is Rebecca and I recently moved to Victoria to pursue my Degree in Child and Youth Care Counselling at the University of Victoria. I began working with children when I was 13 and took a babysitting course through Red Cross. That was 16 years ago and since then I have had a lot of experience working with children and youth in a variety of roles. I really enjoy working with school aged children as I am able to help with their development and love watching them grow! However I have plenty of experience working with infants and toddlers as well. I have lots of \\\"nieces and nephews\\\" through my many friends who have started their families and I play the role of \\\"Auntie\\\" well. I spent 5 years working in the outdoors at various camps in Alberta and love to keep the kids happy through activities, games, crafts and songs. There is never a dull moment when I am around. I am looking forward to spending some time with your child and helping them to explore their world around them. I worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary for 5 years and ran community programs for children aged 3-17 years. Recently I worked with an agency in Calgary as a Family Support Worker, providing support to families involved with child and family services. The children ranged in age from 5 days old to 18 years. I worked with them for 2.5 years and left to move to Victoria to persue my Degree in Child and Youth Care Counselling. I have experience working with children with physical and developmental disabilities. I also have experience working in a variety of agencies who service at risk children and youth. Working as a youth worker providing support to the clients in their group homes.
