Hi there, My name is Kayla. I have a lot of experience working with children of all ages, starting from when I was fairly young myself. those children I were between the ages of 3 months - 10 years of age. Come January, I will be taking my last course to gain my Child and Youth Workers Diploma and In September I will be starting a Behavioural Science program (both at Seneca College). I have many different volunteer experiences starting from when I was 16 years old, working in a school with a teachers assistant, mainly working with children that have ADD, ADHD and Autism. within the last three years, I have had placement opportunities through school, working with children and youth ranging from 7 years old up to 18 years old, ranging from non-verbal, deign diagnosed with autism, being developmentally delayed having down syndrome, being in group/foster homes, have past experiences with the law, language barriers and more. all of my past and current supervisors believe that working with children and youth comes naturally to me. I believe that I am a high energetic person, that doesn\'t mind to be silly and play \"make believe\" games with the kids. I've been working with children since I was 13 years old. I am currently in school for Child and youth workers programs and have completed over 1200 volunteer hours at a high school (workings with youths in Sections 23 programs, foster programs, developmentally delayed and ASD classes) I have also worked at the YMCA where I helped create programs and activities for youths where English is their second Language, and in an elementary school working with 7-13 year old boys with Autism. My mother use to run her own baby sitting service out of her house, and I was able to help out before the age of 13. I would play games, help out with meal times and putting the children down for naps.
