Hi, my name is Krista! I am currently in my fourth year at Nipissing University in the Concurrent Education program. I working towards completing my Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Education degree at the same time. Over the past four years I have had experience teaching in the classroom from grades 4-8. I have worked one-on-one with children and taught the class as a whole. I also have experience working with kids in helping with their literacy and arithmetic abilities. These kids that I work with have become the highlight of my week, and I am able to take what they love learning about and working with them individually at their own level. I love being around kids and being a part of their day! I have also taken classes in curriculum methods, theories of education, literacy in education, special education and child development with a focus in psychology. I think that my love of kids and the skills that I have acquired throughout my education will give you a great caregiver! I have taught children from grades 4-8. This included working one-on-one with children when more help was needed as well as teaching the whole class which consisted of at least 30 children. I also have experience working with children to aid in their literacy and math abilities. This involved working one-on-one with children to teach them skills that they can use in the real world (e.g. counting money, telling time, writing stories, reading, etc. ). I have also cared for a child who was 8 until she was 11. This involved caring for her, feeding her, and taking care of household duties while the parents were absent.
