Hi, my name is Katelyn. I recently graduated from the Bachelor of Education program at Nipissing University, with qualifications to teach Primary, Junior, and now Intermediate. I have always loved working and being around children. Since I was young, I started babysitting which then turned into working for a day camp. I was a counsellor for about 4 years and then moved up to a supervisor which allowed me to plan the activities and events at the camp. I have also coached swimming for 4 years, teaching young swimmers the basics of swimming. Since working with children has always been a passion of mine I decided to go into teaching. I have been lucky enough to travel overseas to South Korea to teach English to children aged 4-15. It was an amazing experience that solidified my love for teaching and working with children. I have worked with children during day camps, coaching, babysitting, and teaching. My duties included making food, playing with the children, planning events or activities for the children, teaching them during school time, and coaching younger swimmers the basics of the sport.
