Hi! I am part time childcare work. I enjoy working with kids, and have over ten years' experience as a caregiver, education assistant, preschool teacher, and ESL teacher. I have worked with kids aged 4-10 and would be happy to help your family out on a regular schedule, or an as-needed basis. I could be available for babysitting with as little as one day's notice. I have experience supporting children with special needs, and would be happy to learn any specific skills or techniques required to take care of your little one. I work from a strengths-based model and encourage independence and self-efficacy. I believe that empowerment is key to raising kids. I also have specific interests in social-emotional learning, emotional intelligence and literacy, communication, boundaries, and consent education. I love to play, read, and be physically active. I have specific education in outdoor learning and love to experience nature with no agenda but to breathe fresh air and discover! I have a driver's license, but I don't have a car and hope you live near public transit. I am happy to work in New West, Burnaby, and Vancouver along the 99 route.
