Hello My name is Emilie and I just finished my 2nd year at UBC. I have babysat/nannied before and I have always been great with both the parents and the kids. Whenever I have nannied I always perform housekeeping as well. Those responsibilities include:Washing the children\'s clothes, towels, and bed linens, preparing the children\'s meals and snacks and doing dishes after the children\'s meals and snacks are done I believe being a positive role model can impact a child a lot so I try to focus on the children at all times while exhibiting kindness, love, empathy, and understanding. I am a very calm person who when possible, negotiates and compromises with the children when there are differences of preferences on activities etc. I am encouraging, dress appropriately, have good manners and I am always punctual. One of the most important responsibilities I believe in, is safety. I, in the past have always protected my children and any harm that may come from strangers. I reinforce the don\'t-talk-to strangers-message and intervene if children interact with strangers. I also believe that children should always have fun ie providing them with stimulating activities such as: Reading together, helping the children with their homework. playing outdoor games ie soccer, swimming, beach etc playing visual games, visual games include the license plate game (seeing how many states\' plates you can see in an outing), I-Spy, etc. and going to the park. I have babysat toddlers on numerous occasions with the duties being, cooking 3 meals a day for them, teaching them to clean up after themselves, with younger children and infants, changing diapers, putting them to sleep within a decent time. I have babysat and nannied up to 4 children at a time with the youngest being 3 years of age and the oldest 8 years of age.
