Hello, My name is Sheena, I just turned 22 years old. I am an energetic, outgoing, caring, fun person who loves working and being around children. I have been volunteering or working with children ever since I was in grade five, either spending my lunch volunteering in the kindergarten classroom or volunteering to be a reading buddy. I have taken education classes in university, that thought me classroom expectations and how to handle behavioural problems found in students. Others can see that I do actually enjoy being around kids which translates into me actually being a good caregiver. I have been volunteering or working with children since I was 12 years in one aspect or another. My most recent experiences have been babysitting and 4 week as working in a Day Camp. I would regularly babysit, mostly in the evening, for two kids who are currently 1 and 3 years old. My responsibilities included entertaining the children, feeding them, changing diapers and getting them into bed at their allotted bed times. I have also worked in a day camp hosted by Rexdale Alliance Church for the past four years. There I was a camp counsellor responsible for approximately 10 kids, aged from 6-8 during the day, camp ran from 8-5. As a counsellor I was responsible mainly for their safety as we did our activities during the day, wheather that was free play time, sport, crafts, group games or the weekly field trips. Not only are you reponsible for the kids that are in your group, during free play and trip days, as a counsellor you are expected to look out for the other kinds in the camp or assists other counsellors in any way possible.
