Hello! My name is Laura, and I am a 27 year old elementary school teacher looking for summer work. My experiences in the classroom have provided me with an understanding of how to use creative approaches to make learning fun and exciting for kids. I have experience in developing, planning and delivering age appropriate lessons for children aged 4-11. I am also skilled in supervising and caring for children. I have experience in bathing, dressing and feeding infants; making formula and changing diapers, as well as in managing children\'s activities. I spent years working at an afterschool program, where I ran program activities while providing a fun, safe and positive environment for children. I\'ve also volunteered as a Kaleidoscope Buddy, which is a mentorship program that focuses on improving literacy skills while providing students with a buddy that they can talk to, and have fun with. Playing a supportive role in the life of a child is a task that I take very seriously. I have always loved children and find nothing more rewarding than caring for them. I pride myself on creating a positive environment in which children can thrive. My experiences with children are quite varied. I have a degree from teacher's college which allows me to teach primary/junior grades, and I am currently employed during the school year as a supply teacher. Throughout the years I have also worked as a babysitter, which included the responsibility of taking children to and from school, lessons and appointments, coordinating every day activities, and cooking for the children. I also spent years volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, where I created and ran program activities while providing a fun, safe and positive environment for children aged 3-12. I also volunteered as a Kaleidoscope Buddy at Queen's University. Kaleidoscope is a mentorship program that focuses on improving literacy and math skills while providing students with a buddy that they can talk to, and have fun with.
