Hello, My name is Heather, I am twenty-eight years old, and I consider it an enormous privilege to be considered for the care of your child. I have held a variety of jobs, each one educational and skill enhancing, however it has been my experiences working with children that have been the most life giving. Challenging, stimulating, joyful, exhausting; the life of each child I have had the honour of being a part of, has influenced and shaped me. As a philososophy graduate and a qualified Psychotherapist, I have developed keen analytical and organizational skills, cultivated alongside a spirit of responsibility and an ethics of hard work. This, I believe, combined with my extensive experience working with youth in a variety of environments including summer camps, retreat and parish ministries, and attendant home care, will contribute to assisting in the health and well being of all children within my care. I have extensive experience working with children of diverse backgrounds in a variety of environments through Youth Programming, Physical Attendant Care, and Summer Camp Coordination. I have worked with children and young adults, ranging in age from two to fifteen in a variety of different capacities. My experiences, roles, and duties have varied within each job, allowing me the opportunity to develop skills in direct care-giving and in program/activity planning, based on a child's particular needs. I hold an honours degree in Philosophy and an M.A. in Counselling, and am confident that this, along with my passion and love for children, and my firm conviction in the importance of fostering their social, physical, and cognitive growth from a young age, will aid in providing a compassionate and caring environment.
