Hello! My name is Emily and I have just returned from China as an English teacher for 3-5 year olds! I was responsible for making English as fun and interactive as possible for these kids, so I am very creative when it comes to being around children. I am currently applying for Teacher\'s College for this coming September (2015) to be an Elementary school teacher in Ontario, and I could not be more excited! I have always had a love for working with children and watching them grow; they are our future and it is extremely important that from a young age, they are in the right teacher\'s hands. For me, education for young kids has two purposes: to instill a love of learning but also, to make sure the kids are in a FUN and interactive environment. Previous experience as babysitter/nanny has taught me that responsibility is an important quality; but having the ability to create a fun environment and see the world the way the child/ren do while you are with them is extremely beneficial (if you are playing a game that involves imagination, GET INVOLVED! Create your own characters and join the kids, don\'t just tell them what to play). Not only will it create a peace of mind for the parents, but it in turn, will help the kids feel safe and have fun! My responsibilities included picking the kids up from school, helping with their homework, preparing meals for them and of course entertaining and playing with them. With the little one, around one years old, my responsibilities included preparing her own food, playing with her and putting her to bed at the time her parents recommended.
