Hello Everyone! My name is Arlene and I am an energetic babysitter/nanny with a bubbly, comedic and warm personality, looking for a new family to work with. AVAILABILITY : I am available to work evenings and weekends September- May/April (school year- summer hours TBD). My location preference, ideally in the Toronto core/ close to transit. (working on getting my license.) ABOUT ME: I would say that I am a "Jane of all trades, slowly specializing in all". Working with kids has always come easy to me, and I absolutely love it! I am currently working on improving my fluently in 5 languages and want to acquire 16 languages minimum. I am great with pets and adult children too! BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE: (Not limited to the following) My experience with children ranges from age(newborns) 2weeks-25yrs , with all types of physical, learning and psychological abilities/differences. I worked for the hospital of sick children, city of Toronto in their summer, march break, after school, leadership programs; with extensive experience nannying, babysitting, tutoring and hands-on managerial skills running a childcare facility for 4 years. I have managed working with upwards of 1-30 children at any given moment and so I don’t tire easily. NEW PARENTS!!! I am fantastic with infants, sleep training and giving you a break to catch up on “me time”! FUN FACT: I am fluent in American Sign Language; Parents using ASL or are interested in ASL for your children I can assist with this. LOOKING FOR: (Not limited to the following) Similar to my last family, this new family would ideally have me do after-school pickups, play dates, potty training, bath time routines, skill building (ie. receptive & expressive skills, social development, language acquisition, comprehension, problem solving, physical activities, music, arts etc.), homework. Regarding cooking, cleaning, and washing I do with the child(ren), at the appropriate skill level development. This is to develop & instill transferable skills that become habits. (Phenomenal benefit when it comes to building independence and increasing self-confidence; not to mention reduces parental stress with sharing the household workload.) I am extremely insightful, understanding and adapt to any situation easily to yield great results with the children I work with. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
