My relevant qualifications include working as a co-op student at Elsie Stapleford Child Care Centre located in Kanata. I also provided after school care for two children aged 3 and 5 for four years (2007-20....) I was employed as a counselor at the YMCA Adventure Week's Summer Camp (2010-20....) I’ve been a Nanny to six families since 2017. I am also am a mother to two wonderful children a little boy (7) and a little girl (4) both are in school full time. In 2017 I was a Nanny to a wonderful family. I was in there home everyday 8:15pm-5:15 Mon-Fri. A one, three and three year old. I cared for there big sister doing after school care as well. My contract ended due to the three year olds starting school. In 2018 I started with an amazing family in carp. Twins (3) and and after school care for their sister (7). My tasks included taking the kids out on activities each week (monkey rock, farm school, play groups and much more). I cooked and cleaned up after the kids each day. In 2020 I nannied for two girls age 3 and 5. Through the pandemic they came to my house each day from 8:30-4pm because their Mom and Dad worked from home. Daily activities include crafts, circle time with our weather chart and calendar. We spent between 1-3 hours outside weather permitted. We baked, and did a lot of educational learning. We also played a lot of games built forts and did a lot of imaginary play. In 2023 I worked with four little ones age 2,3,4 and 5. Each week we did all kinds of activities (for example) crafts, playgroup, skating, library, reading, experimenting, sledding, trail walks as well often played at the park. I would go to their house each day and help out with keeping the house tidy. My contract ended due to one of the parents taking some time off work. I was most recently working with an infant but unfortunately this family moved away in June 2023. I’m presently looking for a new family to work work with. I truly love working with children. Helping develop young mind's is my passion. I would love the opportinity to meet with you and discuss your needs. I have received training in CPR and First aid. (Last updated Sept, 23 2020). I’ve also completed a criminal record check. I would also like to add that I’m fully vaccinated (Pfizer X2) Currently Im looking part time work (25 hours a week and preferably not a before and after school care position). I can't say enough about Laura! Laura was beyond a pleasure. She was reliable, always had the kids keeping busy with activities without much need or guidance from us, she loved being outside with them and being active, the house always looked better when we arrived home than when we left!! My kids adore her, and we are so happy not only her, but her family, are a part of our family. We miss seeing her every day. Laura didn't look at the position as taking care of my children, she went beyond that! She made sure our family unit was well taken after as well. She wanted to make sure that both the parents and the children were looked after. She not only asked for kindness and respect from my children - she displayed it for them. She got down to their level and showed them compassion, empathy, sympathy, encouragement, strength, fun, and so much more. I only wish I could screen the family she ends up with before she goes to ensure that they deserved her. My spouse and I have frequently said to each other that hiring Laura as our nanny was the best decision we could have made for the care of our two young girls. Laura worked as our nanny for a year starting in September 2020 and (unfortunately) ending as our girls will start school this year. We never had to worry about them while they were under Laura's care - she met all of their needs, and made them feel loved and cherished during the days when they were away from us. She also kept us updated/informed on how their days went, and was extremely reliable and punctual. Laura is a responsible, caring, and loving caregiver and we are so happy that our two girls had the opportunity to spend their days with her. She kept them busy during the day with park visits, crafts, and games. I cannot recommend Laura enough to other families. She really does go above and beyond - and our girls loved their "Laura days".
