My name is Shireneley (Sheena for short). I am 22 years old and from Curaçao (small island in the Caribbean). I know 4 languages, Papiamento (native), Dutch, Spanish, and English. Currently studying Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology at Thompson Rivers University. Apart from being an university student, I have been a pre-K teacher assistant back in Curacao for some months with a class of 20 kids ranged from 2-5 years old. During my time as a pre-K teacher assistant in Curacao, I had the opportunity to support children with their emotional needs, daily care routines, and early learning. I provided them with nurturing care, facilitated their language development, and created a safe and stimulating environment for their growth. Furthermore, I have a passion for creative design and innovative learning approaches. I enjoy designing activities and materials that make learning fun and engaging for children. I strongly believe in equipping children with the necessary skills for the 21st century, and I would be delighted to introduce them to these skills from a young age. There are many traits of me which I am very proud of: I am a very patient, caring, passionate, friendly, calm, nurturing, peaceful, creative, understanding young woman. People gravitate towards me all the time. I’ve been told I give warmth and carry a positive energy, which I always will because everyone deserves someone to be understanding to them.
