Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
I am a dedicated, motivated, and hardworking university student who is seeking a summer job opportunity! I have a variety of experiences that have allowed me to possess a wide range of skills in which qualify me as an ideal candidate. I come from a big family and have always loved working and being around kids! I played sports all throughout primary and secondary school- specifically soccer and hockey, so I’m very active and outgoing. Here’s a bit more about me: I am currently enrolled at Carleton University where I am studying to receive a bachelor’s degree in global and international studies with a specialization in global development and a minor in economics. I will be starting my third year this upcoming school year, expecting to graduate in 2019. I am bilingual, my first language being English, and my second being French and I am also continuing university level Spanish courses in order to achieve a high level of proficiency in Spanish upon graduation. Prior to attending post-secondary school, I had applied to become a summer tutor with an organization called Diverbo, and was successfully chosen to take part in the program that upcoming summer. This opportunity gave me the chance to travel to Spain, specifically Cáceres, to tutor high school Spanish students. As an English tutor, I was expected to spend a minimum of four hours per day helping the students, whom were all from different regions of Spain, improve their English speaking abilities. This was either done by simply sitting and chatting and answering any questions they had, but also through activities and games that we would organize. After graduating from Nepean High School in 2014, and before starting at Carleton University, I took a year off to travel, specifically to Bali, Indonesia. While in Bali, I spent time volunteering as an English teacher at two different schools in which I taught students aged 4-6 as well as students aged 10-11. My job as a teacher entailed organizing daily lessons and activities specific to the age group and their education level. I was also responsible for ensuring that the needs of the students were being met, as well as encouraging the students to attend class and to emphasize the importance of education in general. While in Bali, I also spent my free mornings taking care of sick turtles; I cleaned their tanks, fed them, cleaned their shells, etc. Most recently, apart from working part-time at a shop in Ottawa, I was selected by Veterans Affairs Canada to be an interpretive guide at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France. All of these different experiences have given me the opportunity to learn and enhance various skills required for this position; I am outgoing and friendly, I am organized and able to arrange activities suited for different ages and interests, and am always motivated to learn and meet new objectives. I am more than happy to provide a resume upon request! Qualifications: CPRC and first aid certified AED trained Bilingual certificate
