Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

Hello dear families! My name is Sam, I am experienced nanny and classroom teacher who has worked with children ages 2-18 in a wide variety of educational settings. Prior to moving to Vancouver in 2020 I worked as a k-12 teacher at a transitional school for kids with learning disabilities. Once arriving in the city I became the nanny of an incredible 2 year old and her wonderful 5 year old sister. As both girls are now in school full time, I find myself hopeful that your children will be the next I get to work with! One of my favourite things about moving out of the classroom and into working within a singular family is level of focus and specificity I get to put towards engaging with your children. I am able to cater to their interests, create moments of learning from curiosities they express, and help build up their strength in areas that present as challenges, all through a lens of wonder, play and fun. In addition to standard nanny duties, I offer homework assistance and tutoring, art and piano lessons and swimming instruction. I am dedicated to the fostering of your children's development and learning, tailored to their individual needs and growth. In addition to being an educator, I am also an artist and writer and graduated from Emily Carr's Masters of Fine Art program last April. Since then I have been working at the university as a part time seminar instructor teaching classes in Art History and Cultural Theory. This role will break for summer at the end of April and will recommence in September. Ideally, I am seeking a family who is looking for a nanny with part time availability from Sept-April (10-20 hours/week) and between 20-35 hours/week April-August. I remain flexible in these hours and would love to discuss a schedule that would fit both of our needs.
