Hi there, I am Mairenn! Children are incredible; they are imaginative, playful, and creative, and working with them allows us to relive life through that lens. As a childcare provider, I embody the qualities and tools necessary to succeed. I am patient, empathetic, and creative. I foster an environment where children can thrive through positive communication, flexibility, and problem-solving, all rooted in my passion for their well-being and development. I am playful and interactive and love spending time with kids doing fun activities. Going into a little more about my work experience, I have worked with my church for six years as a Nursery Teaching Assistant. When you love kids as much as I do, there is never a dull day! In my role, I work with my team to create engaging, creative, and educational activities that are entertaining but also aim to foster their growth and development. In addition, I volunteered with our team at our summer camp, working with ages 7 to 12. I consistently commit to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. We work with anywhere from 18 to 30 children, but regardless of numbers, I place high importance on quality care. I focus on building individualized relationships with each child I work with and continually find ways to connect, even briefly, during each visit. My approach to childcare focuses on holistic growth and development. I look to build intentional relationships to know how to cater to that specific child's needs and wants. Children are so impressionable, and how we speak and act towards a child has long-lasting impacts, especially at ages 0-5. So, my core beliefs about interacting with a child lie in gentle parenting methods. I do not believe in being harsh but rather empathetic, respectful, and understanding. I focus on building a strong bond through positive communication, emotional support, and setting clear boundaries. I found this approach to childcare in my studies in developmental psychology at York University, which has proven to raise confident, resilient, and emotionally intelligent children. My goal is to provide holistic care and be mindful of how my interactions affect their present and future, which is why I have dedicated many years of building work experience and some of my university studies to curating a standard of childcare that reflects these beliefs. Into the logistics of things, I am currently seeking a live-out, full-time or part-time nanny position. In addition to childcare, I am happy to assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and pickup/dropoff to school. My hourly rate is $20.00. As the safety of the child is my top priority, my standard is to provide you with a reference and proof of my up-to-date completion of Plan to Protect (an organization that equips teams with extensive abuse prevention training, tools, and support to ensure that children, youth, those with disabilities, and vulnerable adults are all protected). Upon request, I can obtain further information, such as a police check and additional training, such as CPR. In addition, I have a full G license as well.
