Nanny in Chilliwack, British Columbia

Hello!! My name is Eden and I’m an experienced nanny currently looking to help care for a little one (or two, or three!) occasionally or as backup care. Currently I’m with one family Mondays and Tuesdays and another family 2 Fridays a month but otherwise have relatively open availability. I’m a licensed Early Childhood Assistant with experience in a Montessori preschool, a strong belief in child lead learning, almost 15 years experience with babysitting and over 5 years experience as a nanny. One of my favourite things about nannying is getting to work with parents to ensure their children are cared for in a way that reflects what they feel is most important while also introducing what I’ve learned through my time in the profession. I see my job as both caring for the children as well as supporting the parents through what can be a chaotic, albeit incredibly beautiful, time in their lives. I believe in the importance of imaginative play and trying to get children involved and excited about everything possible. The needs of every family and every child are different, but I try to create a daily routine where we spend a good chunk of every day outside and the rest doing a combination of reading, playing pretend, making crafts and focusing on building skills with developmentally appropriate activities. With infants I try and put a strong focus on language development and explorative play while also prioritizing proper sleep and nutrition. Victoria is a wonderful city for families and small children, I’m well versed in the different activities and groups available for under 5’s throughout the city and love taking children out and allowing them to experience the world. I first began caring for children well overdue a decade ago, and in the past few years have nannied for children between the ages of 2 months and 12 years, as well as children with severe allergies and high medical needs. Most recently I’ve been caring for babies 3-18 months waiting for daycare spots and would be happy to provide multiple references from recent families. I enjoy time in the kitchen and have extensive knowledge of infant/toddler recipes that I’m more than happy to share and draw from. I’m also happy to discuss helping with meal prep and light housekeeping.
