Hi there! :) My name is Brittany and I am a 24 year old young professional attending the University of Guelph for Child and Youth studies. After 8 years working at Zehrs, I’ve decided to take the leap and immerse myself in more childcare-oriented roles to expand my knowledge, skill set, and help me pursue my goal of going to Teachers College in the future! I have a genuine love for working and learning alongside children and I would be privileged for an opportunity to work as a babysitter part-time. I have experience caring for dogs as I boarded numerous pets in my home last summer for some extra cash. I’m more than willing to help out with household responsibilities and I’m also CPR trained. I have worked in a volunteer summer camp at 14 years old, teaching math and literacy skills to youth 5-7 years of age. During highschool, I worked with special needs adolescents in a co-op placement for one semester. One of my most memorable experiences so far was my most recent semester at the Child Care and Learning Centre on the UofG campus; in my placement I cared for children 2.5-4.5 years of age and planned weekly activities for them. I am very flexible with my availability for May and June, as well as being able to provide part-time care on evenings and weekends from July onwards as ideally I plan to work in a summer camp and then commute for my last year at Guelph.
