Nanny in Stoney Creek, Ontario

Overview: Hello, my name is Anita. I am interviewing for a live out nanny work opportunity in Hamilton, Ontario. I achieved my basic certification in Early Childhood Care and Education from Langara College in 2016, then went on to fulfill the Inclusive Practice and Infant/Toddler curriculum at Capilano University in 2022 where I also completed my degree in ECCE. Philosophy / Service Abilities: I am familiar with Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP), Theme-based curriculum, and Reggio-inspired emergent curriculum. I believe in working with families to establish comfortable boundaries. I firmly advocate the practice of listening to children to better understand how to work with them, and to meet the unique needs of each individual child. I am able to transport children to and from extracurriculars (preferably within walking distance), and provide opportunities for cultivating children's appreciation and interest in artistic experiences. As well, I am able to facilitate learning/completion of assignments for school-aged children. I have some experience in ASL with infant/toddlers and 3-5 year olds, this includes very basic mealtime, toileting, and day-to-day signs. I am more than willing to learn and incorporate additional signs as needed by families. I am an owner of a bernedoodle so I am comfortable with dogs, and open to basic pet care (feeding and potty breaks). However, I cannot accommodate this for all breeds due to an allergy to pet dander.
