Hi there! My name is Monica Pliszka and I am interested in your position. My availability is more open in the beginning of the week as I waitress on friday and saturday nights. I am looking for part time/ occasional/ one off work to help pay for my day to day expenses. Here is a little bit about myself :) I used to be in early childhood education at Ryerson University for 1.5 years. In my time there I studied a lot about development and the importance of introducing learning through play in toddlers and young school children. Children that age are so heavily influenced by their environment, and that will directly affect their development, that is why I am very sensitive and aware of the way I am around children. In my time at Ryerson I also had the opportunity to work in 2 daycares with children as young as 6 weeks to the pre school age (about 4) so majority of my experience and expertise is with younger children. I assisted with anywhere from 10-20 little children at a time, including: feeding, bathroom breaks, hygiene (teeth brushing, hand washing) crafts, painting, outdoor play, games, building blocks, reading, watching movies or videos etc. Through my program I also had to develop several games/fun ways to integrate learning into their curriculum. Therefore I learned to be very creative with the children I teach. I also am the oldest of 4 and have 3 younger brothers (17, 12, 7) I am the oldest of 21 FIRST cousins, and have been babysitting and taking care of them since about 12 years old. I have all up to date vaccinations, my criminal reference check passed, I am CPR/AED Level C certified (including infant CPR), I do not smoke, and am currently looking for a part time occasional position just to bring in some extra money to help me pay for my day to day expenses. Either than that I am a full time student, and currently work as a waitress. I am also quite flexible with scheduling and have my own transportation so I can get to and from your house as well as take your children anywhere if need be.
