Everyone that knows me knows I am still a child at heart. It is not because I still watch the family channel or love playing with my nieces and nephews, but because to me, knowing I have helped a child learn something new is the best feeling in the world. It has taken me a long time to decide what I want to do for the rest of my life due to my high standards. It has to be something I love, where I can make a difference in the world, and go home with a smile on my face. The answer was right in front of me. Ever since I started school I have known I wanted to be a teacher but it was not until I graduated high school that I really knew why. I love children's enthusiasm and willingness to learn and during my time volunteering I had a chance to encourage and push my students to be the best they could be. I have worked with children newborn to age 12 in an out of school care setting, babysitting, and during my teaching practicum. I have prepared meals and done some light house keeping.
