Individual
Hello! My name is Helena, and I am a dedicated nanny based in Limoges, Ontario (I own a car and have a valid drivers license), currently looking to support a family. I have experience caring for infants, toddlers, and primary school-aged children (2 months- 10 years), and I am passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging environment where children can grow and thrive.
I am available for full-time or part-time, live-out positions, with flexibility to meet your family’s needs. Alongside childcare, I’m happy to assist with light housekeeping and meal prep, as well as pet care to help keep your home running smoothly.
I am a compassionate, attentive caregiver who truly enjoys working with children and babies. I focus on creating a safe, supportive space where little ones feel comfortable exploring, learning, and building confidence. I understand that your children are the most precious part of your world, and I take that responsibility to heart- their safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priority.
My caregiving philosophy is rooted in kindness, gentleness, and a calm, reassuring approach. I believe that childhood is a time for learning and growth, and that small mistakes or accidents are never a big deal- we simply tidy up together, work through it calmly, and keep going. I aim to create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and never afraid to try.
Most recently, I’ve been caring for my infant nephew since he was two months old (now currently 9 months), supporting with feeding, diapering, soothing routines, play-time and sleep. I also help care for my toddler niece, planning fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage play and development. Additionally, I have been the babysitter for an almost 7-year-old boy on an as-needed basis over the last few years. Our time is spent going on adventures to the fair, playing alien invaders on the backyard play structure, or having mini dance concerts in the living room.
Previously, I worked as a children’s activity leader at a play facility, where I led large groups of children aged 2-10 through games, obstacle courses, and events. This role involved coordinating activities, managing groups, communicating with parents, and ensuring a fun and safe environment for every child.
I come from a large extended family and have always been surrounded by children. I love connecting through play, storytelling, song, and creative activities, and I take special joy in supporting early childhood development.
In addition to my childcare experience, I am a Registered Nurse with a background in palliative care coordination. My experience supporting families through complex and emotional situations has strengthened my communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills-qualities I bring into my work with children and families every day.
After several years in a fast-paced healthcare role, I am intentionally transitioning to more relationship-focused work. Childcare allows me to be present, build meaningful connections, and create a calm, supportive environment for children.
A little about me: I’m Scottish, I love to sing, I have self taught some basic ASL communication, and I love woodland creatures.
For added peace of mind, I hold First Aid & CPR/AED Level C and Basic Life Support certifications (valid through 2026). My rate is $30/hour. References available upon request.
