Early childhood development sets the foundation for lifelong learning, behavior, and health. With having a smaller ratio, I am committed to continuous observation and assessments about each individual child in my care to record their progress of development and learning over time. Observations and assessments ensure that the child is being supported and that they are benefiting from the early childhood setting. I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, learning environment for your child. My philosophy draws inspiration from the seven fruits of the spirit, as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23. These virtues—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—guide my approach to child care. I believe that by instilling these qualities in our young learners, we can help them grow into compassionate, kind, and grounded individuals. Communication is key to a successful child care arrangement. The parent and provider need to have a good working relationship so they can communicate and work together. Partnerships with families and communities strengthen the ability of early childhood setting to meet the children’s needs. In programming activities for the children, I follow the Early Learning for Every Child Today: A Framework for Ontario Early Childhood Settings, which follows a child-led learning philosophy. Children learn best when they can play, explore the world, and interact with adults and peers. I base curriculum planning and implementation on the knowledge of the children and their development, as well as their individual needs, interests, and approaches to learning and exploring. I strive to prepare your children for their early school years by exposing them regularly to letters, numbers, colors, shapes, name recognition, and new vocabulary.
