Nanny in Squamish, British Columbia

Hello prospective family! I am 22 years old and have been nannying for almost 4 years now. I have always known that I wanted to work with children, so at age 12, I took my babysitting course and started working for neighbours, family, family friends, and friends of friends. I have an immense love for the arts as well as exploring the world around me. In my free time I enjoy reading, l listening to podcasts or music, experimenting with weird hairstyles, baking, going to the gym, hiking, and going to all of the karaoke nights around town! I still help out the family that I initially worked full time for here in Squamish, the mom is now a stay at home home since baby #2, so I watch her 8 month old and almost 3 year old one day a week. Last year I was also working 4 days a week with two sweet 1 year olds in a nanny share, until one moved away and the other was able to start daycare. Before moving to Squamish in March 2022, I was with a great family in Whistler. For about a year before they moved to the UK I cared for their 4, 9, and 11 year old daughters, as well as their 11 year old son and sweet toy poodle. Before moving to the sea to sky, I lived in Canmore, AB, helping out a great couple with their newborn daughter for the first year of her life, as well as their 8 year old son, when he was home from school. Throughout my childcare experiences, I have worked with all ages, from newborn babies to preteens, and I have witnessed the joys and challenges of every stage of childhood. I have been responsible for preparing bottles, meals and snacks, as well as cleaning up the kitchen and dishes afterwards; helping with homework and the set up/monitoring of online classes; enforcing the parents' rules and expectations; taking care of cats and dogs; walks and bike rides to the park and supervising outdoor play in an area full of wildlife; grocery shopping; pick ups and drops offs at school and day camps; preparing small art projects and fun science experiments; doing laundry and also folding and organizing clean clothes; nap supervision and bedtime routines, including baths, brushing teeth, and of course stories! I am looking for a family to work for up to 4 a week in Squamish, my other family is flexible on which day they get me, but it’s best for it to be a consistent schedule. I hope to work with a great family that I can work together with to give their children the best possible childhood and life.
