Hello, I am a 26 year old kiwi who is about to embark on an adventure to the northern hemisphere. After graduating from University with a Bachelor of Environmental Management I moved to Australia and got a job with a waste management company. After 5 years climbing the corporate ladder I have decided to take a break as I consider a career change ( I am thinking about becoming a teacher) and do some travelling (I can't wait to see more of Canada!). Working with kids full time should help with that decision. Throughout high school and university I was working as a swimming teacher, which I loved. I taught babies as young as 6 months up to adults of 80 years this vital lifesaving skill. I have recently started teaching again on the weekends to save money for my trip to Canada. I have around 9 years swim education experience. In 2008 I spent a summer working in a summer camp in upstate New York. There I was a lifeguard/ swim teacher /Supervisor. I am therefore comfortable with a wide range of ages. This makes me first aid and CPR qualified, updated in 2015. My home in New Zealand is Christchurch. During the 2011 earthquakes schools and universities were closed but my parents still had to work so I home schooled my 11 year old brother for 3 weeks. I am willing to provide homework help or extension work. I can be available for every member of the family including the furry ones. I am reluctantly leaving my cat in the capable hands of my parents while I am away so it would be great to have a cat or dog around. When I am not working I enjoy swimming, reading, going on walks/ exploring new places, traveling and trying delicious food. Hopefully I can engage your child(ren) in some of these activities as well. It’s much more enjoyable for everyone than screen time! I am available for full time work from late August 2016 (looking for a September start). I have a working permit which allows me 2 years in Canada. No sponsorship required. I will also be able to directly swap my Australian drivers licence for a Canadian licence when I arrive (Full, no demerits and no claims). I am a non-smoker.
