Worked in residential care for 5 years with children and youth ages 5 and up. Many of the children had troubled backgrounds, and/or various disabilities and disorders, including learning disabilities, FASD, ODD, ADD, etc. Responsible for the day to day life of the residents, including shopping, appointments, recreational activities, cooking and cleaning, as well as implementing treatment plans. As well, worked in section classrooms for 3 years with the children and youth in residential care. Classrooms general had between 6 and 10 students. Worked as an occasional child and youth worker with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board for 2 years. Worked with children and youth in grades K-12. Provided academic assistance, as well as managed negative behaviours. Majority of experience obtained were with children ages 4-7.
