Nanny in East York, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello! My name is Susannah and it’s lovely to meet you! I have been a nanny for five and a half years, and it has been one of the great joys of my life. I love spending time with children, and getting to know families. I am looking for a family that is looking for someone to be a part of their family. I am currently looking for a summer ONLY position for July/August 2023. I will be on vacation the first two weeks of July so start date would be July 17. I am currently contracted to a family for the school year from 6:30-8:30 am at Danforth and Coxwell, so I am looking for a family ideally looking for full day help starting around 9, preferably in the east end. I have a car and can provide my own transportation to the house. I am also open to flexibility around hours, as long as the hours don't interfere with the family I am currently contracted to. I am looking for work starting in February 2023. The family I am currently working with during the day is starting daycare in February. I have experience working with kids from birth up to age 14. I have worked with families with as many as 4 children, and have experience with children on the autism spectrum. Currently I am working with two families. One has a 15 month old boy, and I am with them three days a week. Watching him grow and learn is such a joy, and I absolutely adore him. We love to go for walks around the neighbourhood, play with toys (especially ones we can have dance parties to) and read books together. I am responsible for lunch, snacks, naps, changing and keeping him out of mischief. My other family has 3 children, aged 6, 4 and 2. I am responsible for getting them up, making and serving breakfast, and getting them ready and out the door to school and daycare. We love drawing, playing with LEGO, and cheerios with no milk. I help around the house when I first get there, making the childrens’ lunches for the day and emptying/loading the dishwasher. I love finding ways to keep the children away from their screens and encouraging imaginative play. I love taking children to the park and allowing them to explore and play outside. I think fresh air is something children (and adults) need daily, and do my best to get the children outside every day. I have a full snowsuit and am not afraid of snow or rain. I am also more than happy to find and/or attend EarlyON activities, music classes, library events etc. I value communication, and try my best to keep the lines of communication open with regards to things I need or think the kids would benefit from, and I appreciate feedback from families when they want to introduce something new or have comments about my performance. I expect to be responsible for household chores regarding the children (making and cleaning up meals, folding/putting away laundry, tidying up any messes), and am not opposed to doing other chores as needed (including washing laundry and doing meal prep/baking/cooking for family meals), as long as they are negotiated. I love to travel, and try to take as many weekend trips as possible during the summer months. I love to travel to watch baseball games, which I love to watch as often as possible. I am a big reader, and spend a lot of my free time with my nose in a book. I am willing to travel with families. I have first aid and CPR training, including infant CPR, valid as of January 2022 Requirements: Contract. I am not willing to work with families without a contract, I have been burned in the past for this. Minimum 10 days of PTO per year, COVID is still a thing and I need to know that if I am sick I will not be forced to choose whether to take a pay cut or work sick. COVID safe family (vaccinated etc, as safe as possible). There must be a discussion when creating the contract around what will happen if the family contracts COVID.

Susannah is a very hardworking individual. She has watched our kids many times. She will change diapers, work with the kids on school work, play games and take them outside to play. She hasn't watched our kids during a meal time, but I am confident that she would feed them a healthy meal.

Susannah has been such a help with my 8mo son. He smiles every time he sees her and is so happy with her. She sings songs fir him and gets him active and moving and practicing new skills. She is confident and skilled, and takes instruction regarding his care very well.

Susannah has been with our family three years. She has been a delight to work with because she always comes to work with a smile, is on time, has a great rapport with the children, and goes that extra step two connect with them. We would highly recommend Susannah, for all ages and stages of development as she has worked with children newborn to teen. We love her!
