About Me: Hello! I'm a fit, healthy, athletic and energetic university-educated longtime professional woman. You can think of me as a cross between the fun 20-year-old babysitter and a loving grandma. I care deeply about children, and make sure their time with me is filled with reading, singing, learning, enriching activities and fun. I have recent experience with infants, preschool and young school-age kids. I also have "Responsible Adult" certification necessary for working in daycares. I have loads of health, fitness, nutrition, wellness and mental health certifications and will soon be studying ECE in my spare time. I ran a small home daycare when my kids were young, I worked as a nanny before university, and I am a mother of two of the most amazing, kind, talented, loving and brilliant young men you could hope to meet. I'm ready to be a grandma, but they will not be having kids for quite a few years yet! I treat children with respect and listen to them, and we have great times together. I get along well with kids of all ages, I make learning fun for little ones and can help with homework for bigger kids. While I have not worked professionally with special-needs kids, I did volunteer and work with special-needs kids while I was in school. I also have experience with blindness, having volunteered as a guide for blind triathletes. I cared for both of my parents and my grandmother at the ends of their lives, and have compassion for people of all ages and abilities. It's very important for me to treat all with kindness and respect ... and with a sense of humour! I am a good cook, and make healthful food and snacks, and if your little ones are old enough, they can help me bake :) I am semi-retired from publishing, still helping people to become published when their project is interesting to me, and still publishing books on occasion, including illustrated children's books. I speak French well enough to teach to beginners, and I studied both arts and science at university. I love to learn, and I love to inspire the love of learning. Also, in case this is important, I drive and have a car. And I'm an animal lover, so no problem if there are cats, dogs or other friends to throw in the mix.
