Hi there, my name is Adriana and working with children is my passion. I am located in Barrie South and could be the care provider you are looking for! I am flexible with each families needs but encourage the family to take full advantage of the help I am offering. I have more than 10 years of lived experience working with children of various ages, I am CPR trained and certified. Not only am I providing childcare but I am also providing and creating a loving atmosphere for your children to learn and relax in. I am happy to meal prep and cook some meals. I can help with incorporating chores or schedules for the children. I try new recipes for the children. I can pick up groceries. I am great at organizing and can help in that area as well. I am happy to clean the kitchen and light cleaning around the house depending on your needs. I only ask that involving the children in clean up is supported by the parents. I use emotional language with the children and encourage them to be inquisitive about their feelings, the way they express them. and teach them that its okay to have any feeling but its our job to learn how to let them out in a way that allows us to grow. Since I was an older sister to my three younger siblings I have been around children and helping take care of them. I have always been involved in camps during my summers; to the point of running some myself through the schools I attended and volunteering for my communities shared cottage. I have worked with children in a classroom environment in Thailand and Vietnam as the English teacher. I believe it is a combination of my natural optimistic outlook, my upbringing, and my want to impact this world positively that draws me to children, they really are the future. I also believe the positive impact I have on children is one of my gifts to this world. My lived experience working with them has allowed me to notice certain tactics that work better than others. To always be patient. And to never take a child personally, it is my job in these moments where they act out to show them how to respond calmly. I see the importance of being a good role model for children in their developmental years. Not only do I teach by asking them questions, and setting up new routines, I also make sure that I follow through with the actions I expect of them. The lines i often use with the kids i watch: Rule number 1: Safety first! In order to be safe we have to be honest. Teamwork makes the dream work. Its okay to have any feelings but its not okay to hurt someone because of them.
