Dear future family, I introduce myself, my name is Karla Gloanec, I am 20 years old (I was born on August 9, 2002) and I live in France in the region of Brittany (the western tip of France). I’m the eldest of three children. I have two little brothers, Leo 15 and Maël 16, one is in junior high school and the other in senior high school. In my family there are 5 of us with my parents and we have a small dog. My mother’s name is Gwenola, she’s a stay-at-home mom, and my father’s name is Stéphane, and he’s a business owner of a car dealership and a real estate agency. Since I was a little girl, I’ve been used to keeping my brothers or cousins. I have a real maternal spirit. Very early on I was asked by my parents to look after my brothers when they were away. Being a big sister has allowed me to develop very important qualities that make me a responsible and empathetic person. Apart from my family, I did many other childcare. I intervened in a family of 2 children (10 and 11 years) every Wednesday and Saturday for 2 years. We went for walks at the beach, we did manual activities like drawing, painting. Then I kept an 8-year-old boy punctually when the parents wanted to go out. I made him food and his toilet, we watched movies and I put him to bed. These experiences, whether with my brothers or with other children, have taught me to be attentive and caring with the little ones. Regarding my personality I am very sociable, I love the contact with others and discover new people. I have a sense of responsibility because I live all alone in my student apartment and I am self-entrepreneur to carry out various and varied jobs. I am creative because I love manual activities. I am rather sporty since I am cheerleaders in my school and I love sliding sports such as surfing, skiing, etc. I am passionate about travelling and whenever I have the opportunity I go with my friends to discover new countries. In addition, I am a caring person who loves animals and children. Currently I am studying a license of economic and social administration (AES) at the Catholic institute of Rennes, next June I will get my diploma. Later, I hope to do a master’s in Finance. I did an internship in a trading room in a bank last June, which is a lot more for me. I invest in the life of my school since I am in charge of communication in the student office. In addition I am treasurer in the association «Wine not?» which makes discover the world of wine and oenology. I want to make a year of gap between my license and my master because it is a unique opportunity to live an experience of life abroad, to discover a new culture and to improve my English. In addition, I would be happy to share my culture with the Canadian family that will welcome me and spend time with the children.
