I'm an
Individual
As a motivated and resourceful quick learner I look for a position where I am able to express my creativity and ingenuity. In saying this, I would like the opportunity to work with your family. I am a 21 year old female with much life experience in sharing time with children. I say share, because I am not here to watch your children, I am here to share with your children. I have always been an entrepreneur, and able to follow directions while working without constant instruction. I believe that I would be a positive aspect in your children\'s days. It is very common that I am surrounded by children, wether it be friends, or family. I enjoy helping children learn and grow, while teaching them to embrace change and their individuality. Although, I often notice they teach me more than I could teach them. In my spare time, I enjoy designing clothing out of recycled materials, cooking, and drawing.  My education includes High school at Avon View High School in Windsor, Nova Scotia. I graduated a semester early with an Honours Student Diploma. I continued on to take the Diploma course at Nova Scotia Community College. I have since continued to travel the world to explore and document what it teaches me and how I view the world through my experiences. I am currently looking for a situation where I can settle down for a while, and be grounded.  Along with a group of resourceful people I helped co-ordinate the first public feedings of Food Not Bombs, Saint John chapter. Food Not Bombs recovers and shares free vegan or vegetarian food with the public without restriction in over 1,000 cities around the world to protest war, poverty and the destruction of the environment. Each group is independent and invites everyone to participate in making decisions for their local chapter using the consensus process. Food Not Bombs is dedicated to taking nonviolent direct action to change society so no one is forced to stand in line to eat at a soup kitchen expressing a commitment to the fact that food is a right and not a privilege. I currently hold a Nova Scotia drivers license with a clean drivers abstract which I could transfer to a BC license if necessary. I have attached my work experience and have references upon request. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Kayla Stewart QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHTS · Proven leader with excellent customer service skills · Unique blend of creativity and practical experience · Innovative thinker with highly developed problem solving skills · High Energy person with a positive attitude that is contagious EMPLOYMENT HISTORY & EXPERIENCE Waitress– July - September 2006 Fern Resort – Orillia, Ontario In this unique position customer service skills were extremely important. Responsibilities included serving families five course meals at each sitting, three times a day, food preparation, clearing/setting tables. Part Time Sales Representative - November - December, 2008 Lush Handmade Cosmetics – Dartmouth, Nova Scotia This position was not a typical retail experience for me. When working at lush I was expected to be familiar with and understand each products purpose. We were expected to be leaders of the store and demonstrate bath bombs, bubble bars, skin care, and shower products. This job requires a person with a strong memory, patience, positivity, and leadership. Graphic Artist - June 2007 – February, 2008  Heritage Memorials Monuments - Windsor, Nova Scotia Holding a position involving emotional situations, teaches a person very much about the world. This position was a large reward for me. My tasks included working with a family to determine stone size, carvings, drawing custom designs , lettering and overall composition. I gained a great deal of freedom within this position and learned from the people around me. Other duties included answering a switchboard, and other reception and assistant tasks. Full Time Seasonal Position - July to September, 2006-200... Smiley’s Provincial Park - Province of Nova Scotia – Brooklyn, Nova Scotia Reception/Park Attendant As the first point of contact for potential campers; responsibilities included greeting campers face-to-face and answering the switchboard in a professional manner. I was required to complete daily chores, such as grooming shrubs/bushes, water level checks, tracking of forest fire hazard levels, camp occupancy logs, and visitors. Outside park duties include cutting grass, landscaping, emptying fire pits, garbage, recycling, and campsite clean-up. Co-Creator & Performer – September 2009 – Current Industribe Performance Arts – Halifax, Nova Scotia  As the driving organizer and motivator for Industribe I schedule group and single gigs, tours, and events and keep an updated blog to inform fans and potential clients. As a performer and artist I regularly train, stay active and dedicate time towards learning a certain prop. I incorporate dance, theatre and themes into each choreographed performance. Each performance has hand picked audio mixed by myself and a co-creator. As an entrepreneur and dedicated performer, I have practiced my props of choice and it’s obvious on stage. Whether using fire fans, hula-hoop, fire poi or wearing fire, I try to remind of the strength and love in everyone. As a motivated and resourceful quick learner I look for a position where I am able to express my creativity and ingenuity. In saying this, I would like the opportunity to work with your family.
