Nanny in Peterborough, Ontario

Hi there, my name is Emily. I am from St Louis, Missouri. My fiancee is a Canadian nanny as well, and I am currently visiting her here in Peterborough. I decided to start looking for a nanny job with sponsorship while we start planning our wedding. I will be permanently relocating to Peterborough in about 2018, but may be able to do so sooner with sponsorship from a family. I have several years of experience working with children back home, and I currently help my partner with her special needs nanny charge. I love working with children. I find that their joy and wonder with everything new inspires me to live everyday to the fullest. I love playing soccer with my charges, and I am pretty stellar at hopscotch. Swimming, riding bikes and playing with bubbles are definitely one of my favorite parts of summertime! I've recently had the privilege of experiencing my first Canadian winter, and though it is MUCH colder than I'm used to, tobogganing and skating more than make up for it. I have cared for children ages newborn to sixteen, and I find that each and every age group has its own challenges and perks. Colicky infants are difficult, but the joy of watching all the 'firsts' outweighs the long days. The never-ending questions from a five-year-old can be trying, but explaining why the sky is blue to a child who is learning everything for the first time is a very special experience. I have also assisted in the elder care of both my grandmothers throughout their decline into Alzheimer's. I am comfortable working with older adults and assisting in their daily needs. I have been responsible for household duties such as cleaning, shopping and caring for pets. I have assisted in their meal preps, personal hygiene tasks and bathing. Though I do not have official CPR and first aid training, I am experienced with both as my partner has taught me. I am more than willing to get the certifications if needed. I also have my full drivers license and own a safe and reliable vehicle to chauffeur children where they need to be.
