I am a young energetic, dependable individual with a desire to work with children. Throughout my school years, I received positive influence from many of my teachers during difficult times. I knew then, I wanted to inspire children the same way these teachers inspired me. I therefore completed my work experience, in high school, at the Pemberton Children's Center. The following semester, I was fortunate enough to be chosen as the Student Teacher Assistant for the life-skills (children with exceptionalities) classroom. This only reinforced my passion for making a difference in a child's life. I have completed the Education Assistant and Community Support program at Thompson River University. Unfortunately, I did not successfully complete PSYC 1 Development: infancy through adolescence. I proceeded to commence into the ECE program at Thompson River University. During this time, I did my practicum with Pacific Way Elementary School and a second with Caribou Children's Center. Every teacher’s feedback, commended me for how well I connected and interacted with the children. Prior to Christmas, I was forced to withdraw for medical reasons. I am currently in the process of completing my PSCY 1 course online. Successful completion will result in my EACS certification. Once complete, I intend to continue the ECE program. I have successfully completed my emergency child care first aid. Upon request, I can provide you with a clean criminal record check. English is my primary language. I am fluent in both written and spoken form. I have also successfully completed an Introduction to American Sign Language course, for which I received top marks. I found it to provide me with another great opportunity to communicate and reach out to children with alternative needs.
