Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hi there, my name is Haley! I am seeking a care provider position in the ottawa west and surrounding areas for the summer months. I am 22 years old, currently working as a full time Educational Assistant for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. In this role, I work in an Autism program with teens ages 14-21 where we work towards building social and life skills. I graduated from the Child and Youth Care Advanced Diploma program at Algonquin College in April 2021. I will be continuing my education in September 2022, studying an undergrad in Psychology at Carleton University. Experience and Training: I have always had a passion for working with children and teens. I started babysitting at the age of 14 for various families and children ages 0-10. As the years went on, I gained valuable experience in many other positions such as a Residential Care Worker. In this role, i worked with individuals ages 6-28 who were diagnosed with developmental and physical disabilities. As a care worker, I built positive and nurturing relationships with my clients and facilitated social programming and assisted in day to day tasks such as feeding, bathing, medicating, etc. I have also worked as a private respite care worker with various families and their children who had been diagnosed with ASD. While I was completing the Child and Youth Care program, I had the opportunity to complete a student placement working with children ages 5-10 within a classroom setting. I am a very enthusiastic, nurturing individual who loves creating fun activities and well rounded days for the children I work with. I enjoy the times when I can be silly, and find the humour in everyday situations, while having an upbeat outlook on life.
