I'm an
Individual
Dear family, I am interested in being the caregiver of your children. I had a wonderful time being an au pair in the USA for the past two years. My first five months I spent with a family in Weston, Massachussets, where I took care of a 11 year old girl and a 13 year old boy. Although the younger ones were my full time responsability, I created a strong bond with all of them, which includes the older kids (two girls of 16 and 18) that I always helped when I was needed. The rest of my time that I had in the US, one year and a half, I spent with an amazing family that lives in Virginia, where I took care of three of the sweetest children (age 9 and 6) who are now a permanent part of my life. As an addition, I had a couple of babysitting experiences in the US, one with a little girl that was around 1 year old (2 times) and the other one with a boy around 2 years old (3 times). That wasn’t my first experience taking care of children, though. In 2014 I was a volunteer in a daycare for three months where I would help with their hygiene needs, discipline and education. Previous to that, since I was a young teenager, I took care of my three cousins (now age 14, 11, 6) whenever I was needed, as well as my niece and nephew (15, 10). Through these years, I was required to perform activities related to the kids such as: meal preparation, light cleaning, help with their homework, help with their hygiene and driving to and from school and outgoings when necessary. Although not required, I would always spare time to play with them, teach them and give them all the love and support that I could. Responsibility and determination, as well as my love and connection with kids, has been my strongest traits since I was a little girl. Kids have become such a big passion in my life that I intend to be a teacher at some point in the future. This is what the older daughter of my first host family had to say about me: "Hello, My name is Cally Queally, and I was a member of one of the families Fernanda worked with while here in the United States. Fernanda was very capable as a caretaker, working hard to fulfill every task she was given. Always eager to help and extremely skilled at speaking and understanding English, she was a pleasure to work with. However, even more than that, Fernanda made such an impact on my life through her kindness and empathy. Anytime I was lost or upset, she was there to help me find my way. I distinctly remember sitting on my bed, frustrated with something my mother and I did not see eye-to-eye on, and crying out my frustration; Fernanda gently asked if she could come in, and talked me through the issue until I was in control of myself and felt better about the situation. Besides her compassion, Fernanda's schedule was also something I feel the need to praise- not her work schedule, that is, but what she chose to do outside of work. While Fernanda made sure to keep in contact with her friends and family, she, more than any au pair I've ever had, loved spending time with our family. If someone wanted to watch a movie, Fernanda was right there, watching it with him or her. If someone wanted to have an impromptu photo shoot, Fernanda already had the camera bag or a cell phone before she was asked. Fernanda loved spending time with us, and she showed it over and over again, choosing us over herself every time, which is incredible considering that she must spend the majority of her working hours with us anyway. I feel that her kindness and willingness to spend her free time with my family are so important to a potential family because these qualities highlight something very important about Fernanda: she is not an au pair to make money or to travel, but to spend time with families lucky enough to pick her as their au pair. No other au pair I've ever had has spent so much of her free time bonding with my family, including two demanding parents, four rambunctious children, and two massive dogs, compared to Fernanda. Any family smart enough to choose Fernanda to work for them will be blessed with her beautiful and hardworking spirit. Sincerely, Cally Queally" Thank you for reading, any more information feel free to contact me through the website or email and I can promptly answer all your questions and share with you my resume and referece letters.
