Hey! My name is Dayna Derksen and I am a third year student at UVIC majoring in Visual Arts. I've been working with children for much of my life, including almost a decade of babysitting experience. I have a car and a license, and my classes allow my schedule to be consistent and often flexible. I consider myself an artist, but I am also very active. I climb, run, and play on UVIC's intramural teams when time allows. Although I love exploring and spending time outdoors, I also enjoy reading, crafting, and quieter activities. I've volunteered in classrooms, as well as at summer camps. I have worked at family centered jobs, both supervising at a waterpark and at boat rental shops, where I would provide instructions for use as well as information about provincial parks. Individually, I have assisted in homeschooling and tutoring. I've always loved hanging out with children and learning how their imaginations work! In my university education, I've also taken Art Education classes to learn strategies in visual arts based teaching. Additionally, I have taken a babysitting course (including first aid), and have learned basic CPR. I am looking to babysit occasionally for school-aged children. I am free weekends, as well as Monday and Thursday mornings until 2pm. Otherwise, I am free in afternoons on weekdays! I hope to chat with you soon :)
