Hello, my name is Mary Anne but I go by May (like the month). :) I am Roman Catholic and would love to work with a family who is raising their children with the truths of the faith. I recently got married and am looking forward to starting my own family. In the meantime it would be great to connect with and work for like-minded families. I am the eldest of 5, and spent the majority of my youth babysitting and looking out for the neighborhood children. As a result, I have a passion for working with children and have a natural sense of responsibility and leadership. I have volunteered at a local DayCare on weekday mornings working with children ages 9months - 2 years. I have worked previously as a group counselor as well as a one-to-one counselor at both residential and day camps. I was a Big Buddy at university for 3 years, where I spent alternate Saturdays playing games, doing crafts and mentoring my little buddy. I also have worked as a teacher assistant at the high school, university and college level. My experience in the classroom has primarily been in studio art classes, supervising students with equipment and materials as well as displaying examples and answering questions. I want to facilitate growth and creativity by using my skills and talents in a meaningful way. I believe lovingly guiding children is essential to building a strong future and a healthy community.
