Dear Family: I am a caring, energetic and optimistic individual. I love being creative and having fun, whether it be through music, sports, art, or education. I am a mature, responsible adult with a young heart filled with patience and love to show your family. As an Au Pair in Brussels, I work for a lovely French family and am responsible for three children (ages 2-7). My main duties include: organizing educational and fun activities for the children, preparing nutritious meals, picking them up for school, supervising the children’s bath time and preparing them for bed. I am also responsible for performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties. As a native English speaker caring for French children, I’ve developed exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication strategies to meet the needs of children in diverse stages of development. My current contract ends in December 2016 at which time I will be returning to my home in Nova Scotia. Growing up in a large family allowed me to gain valuable childcare experience from a young age. I’ve provided childcare for many family members and neighbours since my early teens. I learned how difficult it can be to present yourself as both an authority figure and a trustful companion, but time and experience has allowed me to find the right balance. I have been involved in various extracurricular activities growing up and have also volunteered as a Can-Skate instructor for many years throughout my youth.
